Within Christchurch’s Old Government Building, this apartment combines restored heritage character with bold contemporary insertions. Clean-lined gallery-like spaces contrast with playful surprises, including a vivid pink WC. The design creates a refined setting for art and collectibles while celebrating adaptive reuse. Winner of the NZIA Canterbury Architecture Award 2025, the project demonstrates how heritage buildings can be given new life through confident, respectful intervention.
